There are different types of puzzles for different tastes. There are some differences, however, as the game follows the story more than previous installments of the series: your progress reveals new elements and you actually walk around the manor. You have to look for items in different locations and solve puzzles to access new areas. In terms of gameplay, the game is very similar to the previous games in the Mystery Case Files series. And, finally, you got Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst. Sure, the item search is seldom really story related (what’s with all the pretzels?), but there is still something more complete. The Medium Level is when you do look for items, but there is an interesting story behind it all. The novelization wouldn’t be very popular. There is a pseudo-story, but it mostly is there for the sake of saying “Hey! We’ve got a story!”.
The Low Level is where you mostly look for items for the sake of looking for items. Swearing revenge, Victor uses the time machine to travel from 2008 to 1895. Charles instructs Victor to escape, who does so using a time machine. Inside, she encounters Victor, who is somehow immortal despite being at an old age. The detective finds a cable car that she uses to reach a cabin located a few distances from the Manor. This gives the detective the clue that is needed to open the right door. After freeing them, they warn the detective of their brother Victor, who is helping Charles with his dark plots. the detective locates the coffin housing the twins.
